Validation of Genomic Selection Approach for Predicting Sheath Blight Resistance in Rice (Oryza sativa L.,)

چکیده
Rice sheath blight (ShB) is one of the most serious fungal diseases caused by Rhizoctonia solani, instigating significant yield losses in many rice-growing regions world. Intensive studies indicated that resistance for controlled possibly polygenes. Because complex inheritance, it’s very difficult to exploit and tap all genomic conferring using classical approaches QTL mapping, important have a different strategy harness such mechanism. One promising approach can potentially provide accurate predictions phenotypes selection (GS). The research was undertaken with an objective validate predicting involving 1545 Recombinant inbred lines (RILs) derived from eleven crosses between resistant susceptible parents (Jasmine 85XTN1, Jasmine 85XSwarnaSub1, 85XII32B, 85XIR54, TetepXTN1, TetepXSwarna Sub1, TetepXII32B, TetepXIR54, MTU 9992XTN1, 9992XII32B 9992XIRBB4). Where, 85, Tetep & 9992 were TN1, Swarna II32B, IR54 IRBB4 parents. During rainy season (2020) F7 RILs screened their reaction two hot spot locations. genotyping done Illumina platform having 6564 SNP markers. Sheath blight, caused by the pathogenic fungus Rhizoctonia solani Kühn, is one of the most devastating diseases in rice. Breeders have always faced challenges in acquiring reliable and absolute resistance to this disease in existing rice germplasm. In this context, 40 rice germplasm including eight wild, four landraces, twenty- six cultivated and two advanced breeding lines were screened utiliz...
متن کاملAssociation between QTLs and morphological traits toward sheath blight resistance in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Sheath blight is considered the most significant disease of rice and causes enormous yield losses over the world. Breeding for resistant varieties is the only viable option to combat the disease efficiently. Seventeen diverged rice genotypes along with 17 QTL-linked SSR markers were evaluated under greenhouse conditions. Pearson's correlation showed only the flag leaf angle had a significant co...

Sheath blight of rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a major rice disease throughout the world including the southern United States. This disease, which is caused by Rhizoctonia solani Kühn (teleomorph: Thanatephorus cucumeris (Frank) Donk), was first reported in 1910 and now occurs throughout temperate and tropical production areas, being most prominent where rice is grown under intense, high-fertility ...

Sheath blight, caused by Rhizoctonia solani, is one of the most serious diseases of rice. Among 33 rice accessions, mainly from National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS) Core Collection, we found three landraces from the Himalayas-Jarjan, Nepal 555 and Nepal 8-with resistance to sheath blight in 3 years' field testing. Backcrossed inbred lines (BILs) derived from a cross between Jarj...
